Cumaru rapé is a hapé made by the Puyanawa people of Acre, Brazil. A traditional blend of Nicotiana rustica, sacred ashes, and the powdered heartwood of Dipteryx odorata, the Cumaru tree. Where other rapés activate and energise, this one quiets. It is the medicine for a mind that needs to stop moving: before meditation, before ceremony, before any work that asks for sustained inner attention.

The Puyanawa have worked with plant medicines under elder guidance for generations. This rapé is hand-prepared by their community using traditional methods: Nicotiana rustica as the base, Cumaru ashes for grounding and protection, and a plant blend specific to this tribe. If you have never worked with rapé before, Cumaru is a considered starting point. Not the gentlest blend on the site, but one whose quality is clarity rather than intensity. On reception, expect an immediate grounding in the body and a quieting of mental noise. Some people experience brief discomfort as the medicine clears. This passes. What remains is stillness and a quality of focused inner attention that most people have rarely felt so cleanly. Start with a small amount. Sit with what arrives. Reach for it before deep meditation, before ayahuasca or other plant medicine ceremonies where mental clarity and energetic protection are the priority, or in moments of confusion and fatigue when the mind needs anchoring rather than activation. How To Use Cumaru Rapé

Find a seated position and close your eyes before you reach for the medicine. Set your intention, not a wish but a direction. A small amount of Cumaru rapé is administered to each nostril using a kuripe for self-application or a tepi with a partner. Begin with less than you think you need, particularly on first use. Breathe through the mouth after reception and resist the impulse to move. The discomfort, if it comes, is the clearing. Sit with whatever arrives for at least ten minutes before returning to activity. This is not a medicine to receive and immediately stand up from.
